Jeevan Pramaan Biometric Device List

Jeevan Pramaan is a digital life certificate initiative by the Government of India that simplifies the process of pension verification. It enables pensioners to submit their annual life certificates online using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, eliminating the need to physically visit pension offices.

What is a Jeevan Pramaan Biometric Device?

A Jeevan Pramaan biometric device is a hardware tool—either a fingerprint scanner or an iris scanner—used to capture biometric data for Aadhaar-based authentication.

Only Registered Biometric Devices (RBDs) that are:

• Certified by STQC, and
• Registered with UIDAI

are allowed for use with the Jeevan Pramaan system. These devices require the RD (Registered Device) Service to be installed for compatibility.

How to Use a Biometric Device for Jeevan Pramaan

1. Buy a certified device from the approved list.

2. Register the device with the manufacturer.

3. Install the RD Service, available from:

   • Manufacturer’s website, or
   • Jeevan Pramaan portal

4. Connect the device to your computer or smartphone.

5. Download and install the Jeevan Pramaan application.

6. Follow on-screen instructions to submit your Digital Life Certificate.

Important Points for Pensioners

• Only RD-enabled registered devices are accepted. Public biometric devices are no longer valid.
• Some devices require annual RD Service renewal fees.
• If you do not own a device, visit your nearest Jeevan Pramaan Centre or CSC (Common Service Centre) for assistance.
